BTB Buzz April
This month we are choosing a team member to spotlight. I want Ross Nicklas to be that first person. I chose him because he has for a while now been exceeding his KPI’s on a very regular basis. Not just one metric but both, which is not a requirement at all. Even when we are short staffed, he keeps his KPI’s at the top performing level.
Matt, VP Customer Operations asked Ross this question. “What do you do that makes you successful at your role?” He also asked him to write a short bio. Where you are from, brief work history, what home life looks like, personal interest in free time. And include a pic of you. Could be a head shot if you have it, or a selfie.
Ross’s answer to“What do you do that makes you successful at your role?” What I feel makes me successful is my willingness to put in the work and hammer the phones as well as my ability to be personable and fair to carriers so that they continue to want to work with me and BTB!
Ross’s short bio-I was born and raised in Wheaton, IL. I graduated high school in ’04 and went to college to Lindenwood University on a volleyball scholarship. I was a social work major in college and graduated with my bachelor’s degree. Out of college, my first job was at a residential care facility for abused children as a care worker, then moved onto working at a special needs school as a TA. After that I worked as butcher for about a year before getting into the transportation business at Hub Group for 4 years as an account manager and data analyst and am currently enjoying working at BTB in carrier sales. I have an amazing wife that I have been married to for 8 years and we have an incredible son who is 5. During my free time I enjoy video games, music, hiking, golf, and gardening.
